Jesus uses the written scripture of God to resist the temptations of the devil. He fasted for forty days to be in a weak and vulnerable state to test himself, and see how wll he can resist the devil's temptation. Jesus is obedient to God and chooses to be one with God and to stick by his side. Through these temptations, we should learn that if we are obedient to God then we can resist Satan's temptation.
